Himachal Pradesh University approves Vedic mathematics course: La Tribune India

The Executive Council of Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) today approved a certificate course in Vedic Mathematics and a Postgraduate Diploma (PG) in Ancient Indian Mathematics and also approved the recommendations of the finance committee .

The council, which met here under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Sikander Kumar, decided to extend for six months the validity of the recruitment announcements of teaching and non-teaching staff and to create supernumerary doctorate places (in addition to the other places) for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes under the University Grants Commission (UGC) scholarship program.

The council authorized the International Center for Distance Education and Open Learning (ICDEOL) to adopt the norms and standards of the UGC distance education program. He granted permission to fill existing teaching and non-teaching posts, applying the list.

To address outstanding financial issues, the board approved the appointment of former finance chief Gian Chand Rayta for six months. He also extended the extraordinary leave of Prof. SP Bansal, currently Vice-Chancellor of Kangra Central University.
